Just call us or e-mail us with your bust, waist and hip measurements if you want to make sure a size is right for you.
HOW TO CHOOSE A SIZE:
Depending on your height and preferences on how you like to wear something, you can wear 2 of our sizes. If, for example, you are a size 8 and like a drapey, casually elegant fit, choose size 1. If you want a closer fit, choose size 0.
HOW TO MEASURE
Bust: across the back over the fullest part of the bust.
Waist: comfortably hold the measuring tape over your natural waist. If you like to
wear your waistbands lower, measure at that point.
Hips: across the largest part of your hips and buttocks. Usually about 8 -12inches below your waist. Hold a tape measure around your hips and slide it down over the largest part.
Shoulder width: from the tip of one shoulder over the back of the neck to the tip of the other shoulder.
Pant length: stand barefoot, measure on the side from the bottom of the waistband to the floor.
Tip: drop the 0 of the tape measure to the floor, then comfortably read the measurement at your waist.
Another tip: stand straight and do not bend sideways or to the front when you do that.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
In order to provide you with easy care, we wash and dry almost all of the fabrics before we make the clothing.
For most clothing items we recommend the following easy care:
- turn item inside out. If you have a top loading washing machine, put it into a lingerie bag.It protects the fabric from being twisted and pulled.
- machine wash COLD, delicate cycle. Do NOT use woolite. After washing, take garment out of the lingerie bag.
- tumble dry LOW. If your dryer does not dry on low, put garment into dryer for 10 minutes and then line dry or dry flat.
You can also dry clean or handwash clothing items that are NOT hand painted.
CARE FOR HANDPAINTED CLOTHING:
- turn inside out. If you have a top loading washing machine, put into a lingerie bag to protect the garment from being twisted and pulled.
- machine wash COLD, delicate cycle. Do NOT use woolite or detergent with bleach. Do NOT use any bleach. After washing, take garment out of the lingerie bag.
- tumble dry LOW.
- do NOT dry clean. It might remove some of the paint.
- do NOT iron on the paint. It might melt some of the paint. You can iron lightly on the wrong side on low to medium heat by slipping the garment onto an ironing board. Do NOT use high heat. It can melt the paint.
When you simply wash and dry the clothes, the paint will soften even more. And it will stay on. So you can enjoy your wearable art piece for many years.
Of course, if you prefer to handwash and dry flat, that will work just fine, too.
Exceptions / No machine washing and drying:
Occasionally we make clothing from absolutely gorgeous fabric pieces that have triple weavings. They hold up much better if they are hand washed in cold water, gently wrung out and then dried flat. Or you can dry clean them.
We will specify that with the item in the description.
